Hello!  ¡Hola! Kamusta! Olá!

So what’s all this jibber-jabber about you say?

Known here on the blogosphere as Elles, a 20-something “Phil-Anglo” Londoner who’s completely gone nomad! You usually won’t find me in one place for long, which my friends often complain about. Sorry guys!

I’m Asian blooded, South American in spirit (as I get told), with a European heart. For the past 7 years I’ve pretty much been living out of a suitcase (usually along with my partner in crime – Lorenzo) moving between our three homes in three different continents. In between, the travel bug keeps me moving, and takes me exploring other parts of the world. It’s an illness really.

So far, I’ve lived in 5 different countries with 9 cities in total and have travelled to 21 countries and 128 cities.

As once said by Mark Twain:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

So I tend to do just that, and hope to inspire others to also “Explore. Dream. Discover” through my travel experiences on this blog.

I know travelling to a place where you’ve never been to before can sometimes be daunting. On top of this, planning can be a nightmare – making sure you hit all the important spots, making sure you have enough days to see them all, picking the perfect place to stay, and well.. just want everything to work out smoothly. Now I know you can never guarantee a perfect planned trip, but planning definitely can help you make the most of the place you’re travelling to. So my aim with this blog is to help ease travel, give insights and any recommendations through my personal experiences.

When did it all really start?

From the age of just 1 years old, I’d often travel in and out of the UK on family trips, particularly to France and The Philippines. But my nomadic life all really began when I travelled immensely in 2009 to Madrid, Costa Blanca (Spain), New York and Cuba, ‘whilst’ doing my bachelors at university. Then, almost abruptly, these travels inspired me to take a gap year to not only explore the world further, but to develop my independence, as well as to gain some real life skills and experiences. I was really fortunate to have then been offered an internship with the chance to study and better my Spanish, whilst living in South America – which without a doubt was the most unforgettable life-changing experience. Not only did I learn so much, but it opened up my eyes to new opportunities and a new way of life. Since then, I’ve completely gone mad about travelling, as well as immersing myself in the fascinating cultures found all around the world.

What else does this blog entail?

I LOVE… exciting adventures, breathtaking beaches, beautiful medieval castles, mesmerising cultures, inspiring art and design, learning new languages (currently I speak two fluently ‘English’ and ‘Spanish’, and in progress with two more ‘Tagalog’ and ‘Portuguese’), dancing, and last but not least, food (now who doesn’t love food?!) – oh and how could I forget – chocolate which deserves an entire category in itself ;) … so you’ll basically find me talking a lot of obsessive nonsense about these topics in my posts.

I love hearing from people who have a passion for travel, so feel free to comment on my blog, or join me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram :) and follow me around the world as I explore, dream, discover…

Happy Travels to all!

    Hi, Elles
First of all, I have been a fan of your blog. I am also a travelling addict, and you inspire me so much!

My friends and I have designed a special sleeping mask to fight travel insomnia, Sleeper. It holds your head straight up, and allows to get some sound sleep on long trips. I thought you might like it, and you readers may find it useful as well.

We have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo today – http://bit.ly/1DpjrJu. If you like our idea, could you please make a small post about it in your Twitter? Your support means a world to us.

Also, would you like to start a giveaway campaign for your readers? We could ship free samples to any location.

There is more information on Sleeper in our Dropbox – https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e8w7r9fcplgjj5e/AADSoBeHPIBX25YTbH6O4j0Ha?dl=0

Again, I would appreciate your support. And thanks for such a great blog as Completely Gone Nomad.

    Best regards,
    Lana Dey
